Whitnee Dillard is the executive director for Invest℠ and Diversity at Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (the Big I). She began her insurance career in 2012 as a licensed property-casualty agent, joining the Big I in 2014. Whitnee has led the development and implementation of various diversity and inclusion initiatives across the independent agency channel and serves as the staff lead to the Big I Diversity Council.
She recently has also been tasked to oversee the National Invest program where leads initiatives to improve insurance literacy across student populations. Prior to joining the insurance industry, Whitnee managed multiple nonprofit programs focused on youth development and college preparation in partnership with both middle and high schools, along with the foster care and juvenile justice systems.
Whitnee has received the national Big I Chairman’s Citation, Ohio Insurance Agents Citation and most recently American Property Casualty Insurance Association’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Industry Partner Award. One of her most cherished awards is the NBA’s Orlando Community Magic Maker Award for her work with youth in Central Florida. Whitnee is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she received her B.A. in psychology and political science. She also holds a certificate in diversity and inclusion from both Cornell University and the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business.
